About

Kristina Kizilboya

Welcome to my virtual gallery, where I display my collections of photographs.

My name is Kristina, and I was put on this planet to capture it. So please take a seat and enjoy looking through my lenses.

I was born and raised in Serbia, in a small multicultural city called Szabadka. This is the place where I rooted deeply in the soil of the sandy wasteland, where butterflies fly in my grandmother’s garden and wildflowers thrive—just like my biggest muse, my grandmother.

I was raised in a different language than the country I lived in, so I have always felt like a foreigner, no matter where I move. Since 2017, I have been living in Germany, currently in a beautiful city called Villingen.

I’m a 3D artist, and lately I’ve been working with photogrammetry. My 18-year-old self would have never thought I would become an artist. But I made my 7-year-old self’s dream come true. She would be really proud of me now. This is for her.

I started taking photos with my iPhone, and when I wanted to become more professional, I got myself a beginner Canon camera, which I never truly learned how to use—but I kept shooting with it. Eventually, I decided it was time for real fun and invested in a Fujifilm. Since then, I’ve had my Fujifilm with me all the time. They say you should start with something easy, but somehow the more complicated one became my comfort.

My collections come from different times and places. Some are small projects, some are collections I’ve built over the years, and some are standalone photographs. And the medium—well, all of the small machines mentioned above.

I’m an intuitive artist, and I like to go deep into nostalgia and melancholy until I have to climb my way back to reality. My photos are deeply inspired by my homeland, the places I travel, and the raw in-betweens of my everyday life.

I invite you to feel when you look at my photographs.

With lots of love,
Kristina
